Ethiopian Airlines to launch Addis Ababa – Hanoi route

Inaugural flight from the capital city of Addis Ababa on July 10 will arrive in Hanoi on July 11 and returning to Addis Ababa on the same day.

Ethiopian Airlines, the national carrier of Ethiopia, has been licensed by the Civil Aviation Authority of Vietnam (CAAV) to launch direct flights to Vietnam.

The airline will operate its inaugural flight from the capital city of Addis Ababa on July 10, 2025, arriving in Hanoi on July 11 and returning to Addis Ababa on the same day.

According to the Government News, the opening of a direct route between Ethiopia and Vietnam is expected to promote trade, tourism, and people-to-people exchanges between the two countries, as well as between Africa and the Southeast Asia region in general.

Ethiopian Airlines is also working with Vietnam Airlines on future cooperation to connect and expand the two carriers' flight networks.

Headquartered in Addis Ababa and founded in 1945, Ethiopian Airlines has grown to become Africa's largest and most profitable airline. It operates international passenger and cargo services to 80 global destinations and domestic services to 28 destinations.
