Expansion of An Phu intersection in HCM City expected for completion in 2025
The project helping to deal with traffic congestion at the southern city’s eastern gateway.
The expansion of An Phu Intersection, one of the most congested site in Ho Chi Minh City, is scheduled for completion next April.
The construction started in December 2022 with an estimated investment capital of over VND3.4 trillion ($133.5 million), according to the Transportation Works Construction Investment Project Management Authority of Ho Chi Minh City (TCIP).
The project, one of key transport projects in the city in 2021-2025 period, is expected to open to traffic on April 30, 2025. It was mapped out to have three layers, comprising roads, a four-lane two-way tunnel, and two two-lane overpasses.
It is expected to help deal with the traffic congestion at the southern city’s eastern gateway.
The project has so far completed 50% of construction work.
