Expressway proposed to connect Khanh Hoa and Lam Dong
Total investment capital estimated at $982 million.
Son Hai Ltd. Co has proposed to invest in an expressway linking Nha Trang city in south-central coastal Khanh Hoa province with Da Lat city in central Highlands Lam Dong province.
Total investment capital is estimated at VND25 trillion ($982 million).
The project is scheduled to be invested under the form of public-private partnership (PPP). Under which, the investor will contribute over VDN7.5 trillion ($295 million) and the rest will be mobilized from the State budget.
It will have a total length of 80.8 km with four lanes, allowing a maximum speed of 100 kph.
Construction is scheduled for 2024-2028.
The investor explained that the National Highway 27C is the sole road connecting Nha Trang and Da Lat. However, landslides and traffic accidents often happen along the route, particularly during the rainy season.
The Nha Trang-Da Lat expressway will form an axis connecting the Central Highlands region with the south-central coastal region as well as linking economic centers and sea ports, meeting increasing demand for transportation.
Once fully operational, the expressway will help to shorten travelling time between Nha Trang and Da Lat by 2 hours.
The People’s Committee of Khanh Hoa province has asked the provincial Department of Transport to study the proposal from the investor.
