FPT launches $200 mln AI factory in Japan
Following $200 million invested in AI Factory in Hanoi, FPT decided to invest another $200 million in Japan.
FPT, a global technology corporation of Vietnam, on November 13 launched its AI Factory in Japan, providing AI and cloud services to the Japanese market.
The facility provides three core product groups: FPT AI Infrastructure, which offers GPU cloud services with supercomputing capabilities for building and deploying large AI models; FPT AI Studio, a platform featuring intelligent tools for in-depth development, training, and fine-tuning AI models using NVIDIA NeMo; and FPT AI Inference, leveraging NVIDIA NIM and NVIDIA AI Blueprints, allowing efficient scaling and deployment of these models. In addition, the FPT AI Factory offers over 20 generative AI products.
Japan is reportedly facing a shortage of necessary GPU computing solutions to drive economic growth, innovation, and safe digital transformation.
FPT's Founder and Chairman, Mr. Truong Gia Binh, stated: "Artificial intelligence will change the whole world. FPT is working closely with strategic partners to develop essential cloud infrastructure for AI applications worldwide, particularly in Japan, following NVIDIA's global initiative.
Through this important project, we are expanding AI technology applications on a global scale, realizing the shared vision of Japan and Vietnam to become AI nations."
FPT's Board of Directors member, Mr. Do Cao Bao, shared on his personal page that FPT is continuing to bet on AI and semiconductors.
Following its $200 million invested in an AI Factory in Hanoi, FPT has decided to invest in another in Japan with a similar investment capital to address the growing demand for AI in the Japanese market.
In April 2024, FPT announced the development of the AI Factory through a comprehensive strategic partnership with NVIDIA. This event marks a significant milestone in FPT's AI journey, aiming to boost AI research and development in the region, providing AI and Cloud solutions on a global scale.
