HCMC to speed up key transport projects
Southern city targets public investment capital disbursement of 90% this year.
Chairman of the Ho Chi Minh City People’s Committee Phan Van Mai has directed relevant departments and agencies to quickly review and accelerate the construction of key transport projects.
He made the direction while chairing the first meeting of the southern city’s Steering Committee on Key Projects, held on February 15.
Among the projects are Ring Road No. 2, Ring Road No. 3, Ring Road No. 4, the Ho Chi Minh City - Moc Bai Expressway, and Xuyen Tam Canal.
Director of the municipal Department of Transport Tran Quang Lam reported that site clearance for Ring Road No. 3 has basically met its schedule and is expected to be completed before April 30.
Meanwhile, the Ho Chi Minh City - Moc Bai Expressway is waiting for project approval, which is expected in the first quarter of this year.
Ho Chi Minh City has set a target of disbursing 10-12 per cent of its assigned public investment capital by the end of the first quarter, 30 per cent by the second quarter, 60 per cent by the third quarter, of 90 per cent by the fourth quarter.
