Investment increased in Cho Moi - Bac Kan Expressway

The Ministry of Transport (MoT) has approved an adjustment to the investment policy for the construction of the Cho Moi - Bac Kan Expressway in northern mountainous Bac Kan province.

Under its decision, investment in the expressway will be increased to VND5.75 trillion ($234 million) from the initial VND2 trillion ($81.6 million).

The expressway will be upgraded to four lanes from the initially-designed two, allowing for a maximum speed of 80 kph.

The project will build the 28.4-km Cho Moi - Bac Kan Expressway and a 400-meter access road connecting the expressway with National Highway No. 3B and the Bac Kan - Ba Be Lake road.

Construction is scheduled for completion in 2026.

Upon completion, the expressway will contribute to improving links between Bac Kan and Hanoi and Thai Nguyen province.
