Lien Khuong airport to host more internaitonal and domestic flights
The airport recently recognized as the first international airport in Central Highlands region.
Many international and domestic airlines plan to increase flight frequency to and from Lien Khuong International Airport in Central Highlands’ Lam Dong province in the remaining months of the year, according to the airport’s authorities.
The airport is projected to host some 42 flights per day, including 38 domestic flights and four international flights.
Airlines also plan to increase their capacity by 10%.
The Air Asia plans to resume its flight services between Kuala Lumpur in Malaysia and Da Lat city of Lam Dong province while Thai Vietjet plans to resume the flight services between Thailand and Da Lat.
Meanwhile, national flag carrier Vietnam Airlines will increase flights to Da Lat city from July 22 to August 12, 2024.
Lien Khuong airport served nearly 800,000 passengers in the first six months of the year.
The airport has been recently recognized as an international airport, the first of its kind in the Central Highlands region.
Under the airport’s master plan for 2021-2030 periods with a vision to 2050, which was approved by the Ministry of Transport in May this year, Lien Khuong airport will be capable of serving 5 million passengers and handling 20,000 tons of cargo annually.
