Deputy Prime Minister Tran Hong Ha chaired a meeting with authorities in north-central Nghe An and Ha Tinh provinces and central Quang Binh province on February 17 to discuss measures to address obstacles and accelerate the construction of key transport and energy projects.

The projects include the Dien Chau - Bai Vot expressway section, which is part of the Eastern North-South Expressway, and the 500kV Quang Trach - Quynh Luu electricity transmission line, part of the 500 kV national transmission line, Circuit 3.

Passing through Nghe An and Ha Tinh provinces, the expressway section has a total length of 49.3 km and is being built in the public-private partnership (PPP) form.

It has total investment of VND11.157 trillion ($464.8 million).

The Quang Trach - Quynh Luu power line, meanwhile, is part of a 500kV, Circuit 3 transmission line spanning 519 km from Quang Binh’s Quang Trach district to the northern province of Hung Yen’s Pho Noi district.

It will be built at a total cost of VND23 trillion ($973.85 million).

Leaders from the three provinces reported to the meeting on difficulties relating to site clearance.

Deputy Prime Minister Ha asked relevant ministries, agencies, and localities to continue implementing directions from the Prime Minister on these projects, ensuring progress, quality, and safety while preventing corruption and waste.

He also asked that investors and contractors coordinate closely with localities to soon complete site clearance.
