National Data Center to become pillar of digital product development
Roadmap for Center’s construction and operations outlines three main phases.
Vietnam’s National Data Center is poised to evolve into a comprehensive data repository, acting as a cornerstone for the development of digital products and reliable, stable government data networks. This will facilitate data sharing, connections, and the creation of new value from shared data resources.
As part of the push to develop a digital government, the National Population Data Center will continue to streamline administrative processes and ease the bureaucratic burden.
By 2025, Vietnam aims to be among the top 70 countries in e-government and the top 50 in information technology (IT). The goal is to have at least 80 per cent of administrative procedures processed online, reduce government procedures by at least 20 per cent compared to the current level, and achieve a minimum 90 per cent satisfaction rate among citizens and businesses in relation to administrative procedures.
Regarding the roadmap for the construction and operation of the National Data Center, representatives from the National Population Data Center have outlined three main phases.
Phase 1 (Now - 2025): The construction and establishment of National Data Center No. 1, completing the technological infrastructure for managing data from government agencies, political / social organizations, and others needing to store data at the National Data Center.
This phase will also focus on providing services and sharing data from the common data warehouse to ministries, agencies, localities, citizens, and businesses for use in socio-economic development.
Phase 2 (2026 - 2028): Expansion and installation of equipment at National Data Center No. 2, along with completing the construction and enhancing the capacity of infrastructure at National Data Center No 1.
Phase 3 (2029 - 2030): Deployment of additional resources for National Data Centers No. 1 and No. 2 to meet the expanding needs of ministries and agencies. This phase will also include construction and equipment installation at National Data Center No. 3.
