Northern port city of Hai Phong's industrial sector grows well in 5M

The industrial sector of northern Hai Phong port city recorded a significant growth of nearly 14.51% year-on-year in the first five months of 2025, according to the city’s Statistics Office.

The growth was seen in most of the sectors, with manufacturing and processing rising 15.51%; auto automobile production 283.31%; motorcycle manufacturing 644.34%; and production of computers and equipment 94.22%.

The city also posted positive growth in retail sales of consumer products and services with total revenue reaching over VND103.2 trillion ($3.93 billion), a year-on-year increase of 14.6%.

Passenger and cargo transport increased rapidly in the five-month period, with revenue estimated at over VND2 trillion ($76 million) and VND29.5 trillion ($1.12 billion), up 13.54% and 13.55%, respectively.
