Humanitarian assistance to support Vietnamese people affected by Typhoon Yagi and subsequent floods and landslides.

Typhoon Yagi and subsequent floods and landslides ravaged 26 northern localities, leaving 330 people dead and missing, including 24 children; while estimated 141,469 homes, 550 health facilities and 805 schools damaged.

In response to the devastating Super Typhoon Yagi, Australia delivered an initial tranche of emergency relief supplies which arrived in Hanoi.

The assistance, announced on September 11, will be allocated to humanitarian partners to enable the provision of multipurpose cash assistance, shelter, and water, sanitation, and hygiene assistance, as well as non-food items in support of Government of Vietnam-led disaster assistance efforts across Vietnam.  

Mr. Gautam Adani expressed his hope to make contribution to the common efforts of the entire Vietnamese people and provide necessary support for relief activities in typhoon-hit provinces and cities in northern Vietnam.

Heavy rains and floods triggered by typhoon Yagi leaving 226 dead and 104 missing in Vietnam as of 5pm on September 12.
