Southern Dong Nai province plans $157-million expansion of National Highway 51 connector
Presently, the road has a surface width of only 12 - 15 meters, leading to frequent traffic jams and congestion, especially during peak hours.

The People's Committee of Bien Hoa City has submitted a proposal to the departments and agencies of southern Dong Nai province, seeking support for the completion of the pre-feasibility study report to gain approval for the project to expand and upgrade the Bui Van Hoa road section passing through Bien Hoa City.
According to preliminary calculations, the total investment for this project is estimated at approximately VND 4 trillion (nearly $157 million).
The route is approximately 6 km long, starting at the intersection with National Highway 1 at the Tam Hiep tunnel (Tam Hiep Ward, Bien Hoa City) and ending at the roundabout intersecting with Vo Nguyen Giap road towards National Highway 51 to the south.
This road serves as a crucial traffic route, connecting several industrial parks and ports in Bien Hoa City with National Highway 1 and National Highway 51. The daily traffic volume on this route is very high, and the road is increasingly degraded and narrow.
With the anticipated completion and operation of the Bien Hoa - Vung Tau Expressway, the volume and density of vehicles traveling on Bui Van Hoa road are expected to increase significantly. The current road conditions will not meet the requirements for traffic safety under these new circumstances.
Presently, the road has a surface width of only 12 - 15 meters, leading to frequent traffic jams and congestion, especially during peak hours.
