Deputy Prime Minister Le Van Thanh has requested that the central highlands’ Lam Dong province begin construction of the Tan Phu - Bao Loc Highway in October and finish it in 2025. With investment of VND16.2 trillion ($711.24 million), the highway is 66 km in length and passes through Lam Dong and Dong Nai provinces. It will play an important role in regional economic and tourism activities.

The central highlands’ Lam Dong province has decided to develop urban chains, a specialized urban model where the satellite revolves around a central urban area, instead of forming “compressed” cities that are less environmentally friendly. The province will develop four new urban centers in the 2021-2025 period and upgrade a number of existing urban centers, with a focus on Da Lat city.

Lam Dong province is preparing its city planning, in which Bao Loc will be the trade link with Ho Chi Minh City, the central highlands, and the south-central coast, with a development scale at the provincial level. To increase the value of local agricultural products, Lam Dong will also form industrial processing zones in the south of Bao Loc.
