Thua Thien-Hue approves planning of 260-ha coastal urban area

The People’s Committee of central Thua Thien-Hue province has approved the master planning of Thuan An coastal urban area in Hue city with a total area of over 260 ha.

Its population is estimated at more than 12,700 at present and is expected to increase to 17,300 by 2045.

The planning aims to exploit and maximize maritime tourism and service potential and develop diversified trade service facilities linked to key transportation nodes and regional centers.

 The urban area will consist of different sub-areas, including a coastal tourism and service urban sub-area, covering 125.69 ha with a population of some 2,670. This sub-area will accommodate modern, smart and high-quality infrastructure to develop tourism services like hotels and resorts with the aim of promoting tourism economy for Thuan An.

The planning of Thuan An urban area is part of the provincial master plan in 2021-2030 period with a vision to 2050 which had been approved by the Prime Minister.
