According to the U.S. Department of the Treasury’s semiannual report, released in November 2024, Vietnam was named in the Monitoring List along with China, Japan, South Korea, Taiwan (China), Singapore, and Germany.
At the reception on October 26, PM Pham Minh Chinh suggested the two armies continue promoting "more practical defense and security cooperation" in line with the "six major goals" direction in the framework of the Vietnam - China community with a shared future that carries strategic significance.
