2M trade surplus hits $4.72bln
Exports show positive signs, rising 19.2%.
Vietnam recorded total trade revenue of $113.96 billion in the first two months of this year, up 18.6 per cent against the same period last year, figures from the General Statistics Office (GSO) show.
Exports totaled $59.34 billion, a year-on-year increase of 19.2 per cent.
Import value, meanwhile, reached $54.62 billion, for growth of 18 per cent.
This resulted in Vietnam posting a trade surplus of $4.72 billion in the period.
Eleven products recorded export revenue in excess of $1 billion, accounting for 75.1 per cent of the country’s total.
Four saw export value of over $5 billion, representing 52.5 per cent of the total.
The US remained Vietnam’s largest export market, with turnover of $17.4 billion, while China was its largest import source, with import value of $20.9 billion.
