Ca Mau airport to be upgraded to receive 1 million passengers by 2030
The airport projected to handle 1,000 tons of cargo annually.
Ca Mau Airport in southernmost Ca Mau province is expected to serve 1 million passengers and handle 1,000 tons of cargo annually by 2030 following a planning for the airport which has been approved by the Ministry of Transport.
The current capacity of the airport is 200,000 passengers per year.
Under the planning for the 2021-2030 period with a vision to 2050, the airport will be upgraded to class 4C in accordance with the classifications of aircraft of the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO), and Level 2 military airport.
It will be capable of catering to A320 and A321 aircraft.
The airport is projected to receive 3 million passengers and 3,000 tons of cargo by 2050.
The planning requires estimated investment capital of VND2.253 trillion ($88.6 million).
