Gia Binh airport in Bac Ninh province proposed to increase capacity
Its annual capacity expected to increase to 50 million passengers by 2050

The Civil Aviation Authority of Vietnam (CAAV) has proposed the Ministry of Construction to increase annual capacity for the Gia Binh International Airport in northern Bac Ninh province to 30 million passengers by 2030 and 50 million passengers by 2050.
Construction of the dual-use Gia Binh Airport start on December 10, 2024, with an investment capital estimated at over VND4.43 trillion ($174.6 million).
The project (first phase) is expected to be completed within 18 months.
The development of the Gia Binh airport is crucial to alleviating congestion at Noi Bai International Airport in Hanoi and support both national defence, security and economic development.
Also, the CCAV proposed to increase the land use for the Gia Binh airport to 1,960ha.
