HCMC allocates investment capital for gateway road upgrades

Ho Chi Minh City is fast-tracking the upgrade and expansion of its key gateway roads, with a substantial investment capital estimated at over VND58 trillion (over $2.26 billion), under the Build-Operate-Transfer (BOT) model, as announced by the municipal Department of Transport.

The initiative encompasses four projects: upgrading and expanding  sections of the National Highway 1 (from Kinh Duong Vuong Street to the border of neighboring Long An Province), the National Highway 22 (from An Suong intersection to Ring Road 3), and the National Highway 13 (from Binh Trieu Bridge to the border of neighboring Binh Duong Province); and upgrading the North-South arterial road's section from Nguyen Van Linh Street to the Ben Luc - Long Thanh Expressway.

Specifically, the National Highway 1 section project, stretching 9.62 km, will see an investment of approximately VND16.27 trillion (nearly $636 million).

Meanwhile, the National Highway 22 section project, 8 km long, will receive an investment of VND10.45 trillion (over $408 million).

The National Highway 13 section, 6.3 km long, passing through Thu Duc City, will be upgraded with a budget of over VND21.7 trillion ($848.6 million).

The 8.6 km segment of the North-South arterial road, which passes through District 7 and Nha Be District, will receive an investment of over VND9.89 trillion ($386.5 million).
