Ho Chi Minh City - Trung Luong - My Thuan Expressway to be expanded
Total investment capital is estimated at nearly VND39.8 trillion ($1.55 billion).

The Ministry of Transport has approved the expansion of the Ho Chi Minh City - Trung Luong - My Thuan Expressway from 4 lanes to 6-8 lanes, under the mode of public-private partnership (PPP).
Total investment capital for the expansion project is estimated at nearly VND39.8 trillion ($1.55 billion).
The 91-km expressway, part of the eastern North - South expressway, connects the southern city with Long An and Tien Giang provinces in the Mekong Delta.
The Ho Chi Minh City - Trung Luong section, 40km long, which was put into operation in 2010, will be upgraded to eight lanes, along with two emergency stopping lanes, with a roadbed width of 41 meters allowing a maximum speed of 120 km/h.
Meanwhile, the Trung Luong - My Thuan section, 51km long, which was opened to traffic in 2022, will be expanded to six lanes, along with two emergency stopping lanes, with a roadbed width of 32.25 meters allowing a maximum speed of 100 km/h.
The project is scheduled for implementation between 2024 and 2028.
