Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh has signed a decision to establish a steering committee for implementing the National Assembly’s Resolution 136/2024/QH15, dated June 26, 2024,  on the organization of urban administration and pilot implementation of special mechanisms and policies for the development of Da Nang City.

The PM will lead the Steering Committee, with the Minister of Planning and Investment and the Secretary of the Da Nang’s Party Committee serving as  deputy heads.

The committee’s members include representatives from the ministries of Planning and Investment, Finance, Transport, Industry and Trade, Natural Resources and Environment, Internal Affairs, Science and Technology, Agriculture and Rural Development, Public Security, Justice, Information and Communications, and Construction, as well as the Government Office, and the Chairpersons of both the city People’s Council and People’s Committee.

As an inter-agency body, the Steering Committee will assist the PM in studying, directing and coordinating efforts to address key tasks during the implementation of Resolution No 136.

Earlier, during a hybrid conference held in Da Nang on August 31 to introduce and deploy Resolution No 136, the Prime Minister emphasized Da Nang's strategic advantages, which include a robust transport network, favorable conditions for industrial development, a thriving maritime economy, and a growing services and tourism sector.

The Resolution aims to attract strategic investors, establish the Da Nang Free Trade Zone, reclaim land for logistics infrastructure development, advance semiconductor technology and artificial intelligence, and invest in and manage scientific and technological infrastructure.
