2022 is an important year for Vietnam as it accelerates its recovery from Covid-19. It’s also an important time for Pharmacity, with the company celebrating a number of important events and milestones as it looks to its future development with confidence. In the eleven years since it was founded, the company has dedicated itself to one purpose: protecting the health and well-being of all families in Vietnam. Today, it stands more committed to this than ever.

One particularly important event for Pharmacity recently was Ms. Tran Tue Tri joining as its new Chief Executive Officer. This followed founder Chris Blank stepping aside from the position, having recently taken medical leave. Ms. Tri has over 25 years of experience in the retail and consumer sectors and joins Pharmacity after a distinguished career that included senior leadership and board positions at Unilever, Samsung, and P&G in both Vietnam and abroad.

Notably, Ms. Tri led Unilever’s Vietnam Personal Care division, during which time the segment demonstrated consistently strong growth. At Samsung Vietnam, she was responsible for several flagship product launches, including the country’s first-ever Smart TV and smartphone, which both subsequently became number one brands in the country. She has also held senior regional and global positions, most recently serving both on the Board of Unilever Indonesia and as Vice President, Global Brand, at one of Unilever’s major product lines.

Her appointment comes as Pharmacity continues to optimize its business for the post-pandemic environment. Vietnam’s retail pharmacy industry is evolving, with local consumers becoming ever more health conscious and focused on quality and cost.

“I am delighted that Ms. Tri is joining Pharmacity as CEO,” said Mr. Blank. “Her experience in building and developing businesses in Vietnam and elsewhere in the region will be invaluable as Pharmacity delivers on its purpose of protecting the health and well-being of all families in Vietnam.”

Pharmacity is well-positioned to capture growth as Vietnam moves to its next phase of development. It recently opened its 1,100th store - a milestone that reflects the pivotal role the company now holds within the community.

“As the country’s largest modern retail pharmacy chain, Pharmacity plays an important part in the lives of Vietnamese families,” said Ms. Tri. “My focus as CEO will be to work with our teams and suppliers to continue serving them in the most effective way possible.”

With Ms. Tri at the helm, Pharmacity’s commitment to serving the Vietnamese people remains at the heart of everything the company does, and its people around the country continue to focus on protecting the health and well-being of all families in Vietnam.
