In the context of difficulties in exporting agricultural products by road, the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development (MARD) has said it is necessary to diversify modes of transport specifically for such products, including transport by sea, to boost exports to China and other markets.

Despite 70 per cent of agricultural processing companies having to suspend export activities and the remaining 30 per cent having to operate at less-than-capacity due to Covid-19, some still overcame the difficulties, maintained export market share, and recorded stable revenue and profits.

Deputy Minister of Agriculture and Rural Development Phung Duc Tien has requested that localities in northern provinces with border gates ensure the continued distribution of agricultural products across borders. He also asked that careful preparations be made for the export of Vietnamese agricultural products to China when new regulations are applied from 2022.
