Aquaculture turnover grew an estimated 3 per cent in 2021, with export turnover hitting nearly $8.9 billion, up 5.7 per cent year-on-year and surpassing the annual target of $8.5 billion by 4.6 per cent. Fishing output in the third quarter was down 186,000 tons year-on-year, meaning significant efforts are needed to reach the 2021 target of output reaching 3,657 million tons and export turnover $3.6 billion.
