10,000 Vietnamese expected to work in South Korea in 2023

Minister of Labor, Invalids and Social Affairs Dao Ngoc Dung and South Korea’s Minister of Employment and Labor Lee Jung Sik signed an MoU on June 23 on sending Vietnamese workers to South Korea under the Employment Permit System (EPS) program.

As of June 19, Vietnam had sent 5,423 workers to South Korea to work under the EPS program. The total number of Vietnamese working in South Korea this year under the program is expected to reach 10,000.

Nearly 49,000 Vietnamese people are currently working in South Korea, on average monthly incomes of $1,500-2,000.

Labor cooperation between the two countries began in 1993 and the two ministries have continued to expand cooperation in labor, employment, and vocational training in recent years.
