Two to continue support for Vietnam’s growing offshore wind industry.

The Netherlands’ Fugro, the world’s leading geo-data specialist collecting and analyzing comprehensive information on the Earth and the structures built upon it, has extended its MoU with PTSC Geos & Subsea Services Co., Ltd (PTSC G&S), a subsidiary of the PetroVietnam Technical Services Corporation, to meet Vietnam’s robust demand for geophysical, geotechnical, and metocean data services.

Under the new two-year agreement, Fugro’s complete suite of marine site characterization services, combined with PTSC G&S’s local survey capabilities, will contribute to supporting Vietnam’s expanding offshore wind sector.

This extension of the MoU marks a significant milestone in the partnership between Fugro and PTSC G&S, which was established in 2011. It underscores the commitment of both parties to bolster Vietnam’s evolving offshore wind industry and ambitious targets outlined in the Power Development Plan VIII (PDP8) from 2023, aiming for approximately 6 GW of offshore wind energy by 2030 and 70-91.5 GW by 2050, aligning with the country’s net-zero emissions goal by 2050.

Mr. Jerry Paisley, Regional Strategic Sales and Marketing Director at Fugro, expressed enthusiasm about unlocking geo-data insights to contribute to Vietnam’s offshore wind market development, following over a decade of collaboration with PTSC G&S. Fugro delivers solutions from adopting an integrated approach encompassing geo-data acquisition and analysis.

PTSC G&S boasts decades of experience as a contractor providing a comprehensive range of survey and associated services for the oil and gas industry. “With over four decades of experience serving the Vietnamese and wider Southeast Asian market, we are pleased to be extending our agreement with Fugro so we can carry on delivering comprehensive geophysical, geotechnical, and metocean surveys to our valued clients across Vietnam’s energy industry,” said Mr. Truong Tuan Nghia, Director of PTSC G&S.
