Nhon - Hanoi Railway Station metro line expected for commercial operation before July 28
The project already receiving safety certification, an important basis for commercial operation.
The elevated section of the Nhon - Hanoi Railway Station metro project in Hanoi is expected to be put into commercial operation before July 28.
Deputy Prime Minister Tran Hong Ha has requested relevant ministries and agencies to urgently complete the review and inspection tasks before July 26 to put the first metro line of the capital city into operation before July 28, according to the Government Office.
Earlier this month, the metro line’s elevated section received a safety certification by Apave - Bureau Veritas - Certifer (known as ABC Consultant) from France, an important basis for commercial operation of the line's elevated section.
The Hanoi Urban Railway Management Board (MRB) said it is building an inauguration plan for the project to submit to the municipal authorities for approval.
The Nhon - Hanoi Railway Station line runs 12.5 km, including a 4km underground section, from Nhon in Hanoi's Nam Tu Liem district via Kim Ma Street to Hanoi Railway Station in Dong Da district. Construction began in 2010 at an estimated cost of over VND34.8 trillion (nearly $1.37 billion).
