At its next meeting in May, the National Assembly (NA) is expected to adopt a resolution piloting a number of specific mechanisms and policies for south-central Khanh Hoa province. Approving partial adjustments to general planning on the construction of functional areas and the urban master plan approved by the Prime Minister is to be decentralized to the province.

The National Assembly (NA) has approved fiscal and monetary policies to support Vietnam’s socio-economic recovery and development. The policy package totals nearly VND350 trillion ($15.5 billion) and will be implemented this year and next.

A draft Law on Insurance Business submitted to the National Assembly (NA) on October 22 features amendments and supplements and new regulations, such as expanding the target customers of foreign investors and dividing types of insurance.

At a meeting on finalizing draft amendments and supplements to a number of articles in ten laws, to support people and businesses in the context of the pandemic, the Ministry of Justice (MoJ) proposed that ministers explain the amendments and supplements to the National Assembly. Nine of the ten laws are related to economic activities, such as the Law on Investment, the Law on Enterprises, and the Law on Customs.

While there are no reports on data just at the moment, the devastation of Covid-19 has put Vietnam’s economy at risk of bad debts. The State Bank of Vietnam has therefore proposed developing a law on handling bad debts for submission to the National Assembly.
