The Government's Steering Committee for administrative reform and decentralization established

PM Pham Minh Chinh will serve as Head of the Steering Committee.

Under Prime Ministerial decision No. 1417/QD-TTg, signed by Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh on June 30,  the Government’s Steering Committee for Administrative Procedure Reform, Decentralization, and Delegation of Authority has been established.

The move reaffirms the government's commitment to modernizing public administration and improving national competitiveness.

The PM will serve as Head of the Steering Committee. The Deputy Heads include: Permanent Deputy Prime Minister Nguyen Hoa Binh (Permanent Deputy Head), Minister and Chairman of the Government Office Tran Van Son, and Minister of Home Affairs Pham Thi Thanh Tra.

The Steering Committee has the following duties:

Researching, advising, and proposing solutions to address inter-sectoral challenges related to administrative reform, decentralization, delegation of authority, and the application of information technology and digital transformation.

Directing and coordinating ministries, sectors, and localities in implementing relevant strategies and programs, ensuring consistency and efficiency across administrative levels.

Overseeing the implementation of tasks, conducting preliminary and final reviews, and evaluating the performance of policies and programs aimed at transforming administrative procedures.

Assisting the Government and the Prime Minister in promptly directing the resolution of important, inter-sectoral issues regarding difficulties and obstacles faced by people and businesses in carrying out administrative procedures, as well as those faced by ministries, sectors, and localities in implementing their tasks.
