Gia Lai province in central Vietnam is promoting sustainable development with
plans for a 23-ha Renewable Energy Human Resource Training and Development
Center in Phu My Dong commune.
This key project, with an estimated investment of VND2.3
trillion ($87 million), is set to address Vietnam's shortage of high-quality
renewable energy professionals and drive green economic growth.
The state-of-the-art center will feature a comprehensive
infrastructure, including a green hydrogen production workshop, hyperbaric
oxygen therapy center, indoor and offshore training areas, a training tower,
and both low-rise and high-rise accommodation. It will also boast its own wind
turbine system and solar power farm, along with sports facilities and a
helicopter landing pad, creating a self-contained environment for training,
research, and living.
Designed to host approximately 400 students per course with
a dedicated team of over 117 lecturers, the center aims to become Vietnam's
premier green energy training institution.
Phu My Dong commune was chosen for
its ideal natural conditions, offering stable wind speeds and abundant solar
radiation perfect for renewable energy development. Its open terrain, large
land fund, and convenient transportation infrastructure further enhance its
appeal for large-scale projects.
Looking ahead, the center envisions becoming an
international training hub, attracting students from neighboring countries like
Laos, Cambodia, and Myanmar. This initiative will significantly bolster Gia
Lai's position in global green energy human resource cooperation and affirm its
pioneering role in clean energy and sustainable green development.
The Provincial People's Council recently approved a
resolution to add 52 land plots for bidding to select investors for renewable
energy projects in 2025-2026. This includes 5 hydropower, 13 solar, 32 wind,
and 2 biomass power projects, underscoring Gia Lai's comprehensive strategy for
a green future.
