GO! Yen Bai was officially inaugurated and put into
operation by Central Retail Vietnam Group in Yen Bai ward, Lao Cai province, in northern Vietnam, on
September 10.
With a total investment of VND164 billion ($6.2 million) and
a scale of 13,000 sq.m, the new facility marks the 44th shopping mall in Central Retail
Vietnam Group's chain of commercial centers.
"The complex is expected to stimulate consumption,
increase service revenue, and contribute to the modernization of the province's
commercial sector, while also creating job opportunities for local
residents," said Mr. Trinh Xuan Truong, Secretary of the Provincial Party
Committee.
Mr. Tran Huu Linh, Director of the Domestic Market
Management and Development Department (Ministry of Industry and Trade),
emphasized the importance of expanding retail infrastructure as part of the
government's strategy for domestic market development.
Following the provincial merger and streamlined two-level
government apparatus since July 2025, the former province of Yen Bai, where locates Yen Bai ward now, became part of Lao Cai province.
The new province of Lao Cai is currently demonstrating positive changes in its
investment environment.
For the first eight months of 2025, the province has
approved investment policies for 38 projects, including 2 projects in
agriculture, forestry, and fisheries; 30 projects in industry and construction;
and 6 projects in trade, services, and tourism.
The total registered investment capital for these projects
reached VND11.67 trillion ($441.5 million), and the province currently has 67
active FDI projects with a registered capital of over $1 billion.
