Vietnam earns $2 billion from rubber exports in 8M

Vietnam exported 1.11 million tons of rubber worth $1.98 billion in the first eight months of 2025, according to  Vietnam Customs.

The figures represent a slight decline of 0.6% in volume but a 12.6% increase in value year-on-year, driven by higher export prices. The average export price reached $1,775 per ton, up 13.2% compared to the same period last year.

In August alone, rubber exports totaled 217,000 tons worth $359 million, rising 3.3% in quantity and 4.1% in value against the same month in 2024.

China, Malaysia, the Republic of Korea (RoK) and Indonesia remained Vietnam’s key buyers.

With 930,000 hectares of rubber plantations, Vietnam is the world’s third-largest natural rubber producer, after Thailand and Indonesia. In 2024, the country exported nearly 2 million tons of rubber, earning $3.4 billion.
